ΕΦΕΤ: ανάκληση τριών προϊόντων με ενδείξεις μπαμπού και των ομοειδών τουςEFET recalls three bamboo-labelled products and similar items

Ο ΕΦΕΤ ανακοίνωσε στις 18 Αυγούστου την άμεση ανάκληση τριών συγκεκριμένων προϊόντων και των ομοειδών τους. Οι ενδείξεις που δημοσιεύει είναι «πιάτο μπαμπού SPRING, Made in P.R.C.», «δοχείο φαγητού Bamboo Fiber - Natural Collection, Made in P.R.C.» και «σετ κουτάλες μπαμπού JULONG COMMODITY Life Style, Made in P.R.C.». Σύμφωνα με την ανακοίνωση, εισαγωγέας των προϊόντων είναι η SPRING DEPARTMENT STORE Ι.Κ.Ε. με έδρα τον Άγιο Ιωάννη Ρέντη.

Τα δείγματα εξετάστηκαν από το Β’ Τμήμα της Β’ Χημικής Υπηρεσίας Αθηνών του Γενικού Χημείου του Κράτους και χαρακτηρίστηκαν μη κανονικά. Ενώ οι συσκευασίες τα παρουσίαζαν ως προϊόντα μπαμπού, ο εργαστηριακός έλεγχος διαπίστωσε ότι είναι πλαστικά υλικά επαφής με τρόφιμα κατασκευασμένα από ρητίνη μελαμίνης. Ο ΕΦΕΤ αναφέρει ότι η παρουσίαση μπορούσε να παραπλανήσει για τη φύση και τη σύνθεσή τους και υπενθυμίζει ότι αλεύρι ή ίνες μπαμπού δεν περιλαμβάνονται στον ενωσιακό κατάλογο εγκεκριμένων ουσιών για την κατασκευή τέτοιων πλαστικών.

Η αρχή απαίτησε την ανάκληση του συνόλου των τριών προϊόντων και των ομοειδών τους και κάλεσε όσους έχουν προμηθευτεί τα παραπάνω προϊόντα να μην τα χρησιμοποιήσουν. Η ανακοίνωση δεν αφορά αυτομάτως κάθε σκεύος από φυσικό μπαμπού, κάθε ξύλινο αντικείμενο ή οποιοδήποτε διαφορετικό προϊόν φέρει τη λέξη μπαμπού. Οι καταναλωτές χρειάζεται να συγκρίνουν τις ακριβείς ενδείξεις και τις ενδεικτικές φωτογραφίες της επίσημης ανακοίνωσης και, αν υπάρχει αμφιβολία, να ζητούν διευκρίνιση από το σημείο αγοράς ή τον ΕΦΕΤ.

EFET announced on August 18 the immediate recall of three identified products and similar items. The labels published in the notice are bamboo plate SPRING, Made in P.R.C.; Bamboo Fiber - Natural Collection food container, Made in P.R.C.; and bamboo ladle set JULONG COMMODITY Life Style, Made in P.R.C. The notice names SPRING DEPARTMENT STORE IKE, based in Agios Ioannis Rentis, as the importer.

The samples were examined by the Second Department of the Second Athens Chemical Service at the General Chemical State Laboratory and classified as non-compliant. Although the packaging presented them as bamboo products, laboratory checks found that they were plastic food-contact materials made from melamine resin. EFET says that presentation could mislead consumers about their nature and composition and notes that bamboo flour or fibres are not on the European Union list of substances authorised for manufacturing such plastics.

The authority required the recall of all of the three identified products and similar items and told consumers who bought the specified products not to use them. The notice does not automatically cover every object made from natural bamboo, every wooden utensil or any different product carrying the word bamboo. Consumers should compare the exact identifiers and illustrative photographs in the official notice and ask the retailer or EFET for clarification if uncertain.
